AUGUST BEST BUYS

It is the first day of August, and really, I can't think of a better thing to do than to share what a great items to purchase this month.

August is a great month for picking up your back to school items.  Prices on back to school items will be significantly reduced this month.  Office supply stores can hook you up with pencils for as low as a penny and notebooks for 25 cents.

Lots of summer clothing is on sale now too.  Layer summer pieces for a Fall look, and don't forget that here in Arizona, the warm weather clothes will still work for quite some time.  Swimwear is also at a great price at this time.

You can update your outdoor living spaces in August and the end of August by taking advantage of patio furniture and grill sales.

FREE APP FOR SCHOOL

One of the things that get massive credit for my good grades in college was the extensive use of flash cards.  I went through mounds of index cards not to mention ink, but it was worth it.  With the StudyBlue Flashcard app, your students can create flash cards to help them study on the fly as well as set reminders to study and even use flash cards created by other students.  There are millions of flash cards that your student can use.  They can connect with a community of classmates.  In short, it is pretty awesome and again free for Android, iPhone, iPod, or use the website with a regular computer.  Check it out at this link.

  1. I'm a huge fan of freezing! You can freeze a ton of veggies by just blanching them first. I freeze a lot of veggies from my garden so I can eat them year round.

    1. I've got to do that more. I'm really thinking I need some sort of mini freezer too.
